Remote Site Data Duplication
Most organisations backup their servers. Most users assume that their data is always going to be safe. Most people are shocked when they find out what the reality is. When was the last time you tested one of your backup tapes? Have you ever successfully recovered a file from tape? How old are your backup tapes - any older than about 2 years and you are probably taking a risk! How many passes has the tape had? Anything over about 75 and you are probably taking a risk!
If you are a small organisation where do you store your backup tapes? Even if you store your tapes in a fire safe, are you sure that you could recover your critical data in a 'burnt to the ground' scenario?

We offer an automatic backup of your critical data files on any system, and for systems running Linux, or any type of Unix, we can offer a remote duplication of your complete system.
We take a complete copy of the files you wish to protect, then every 24 hours we schedule an analysis of your system. This is normally done at night so as not to interfere with the normal day to day operation of the system. The files that have changed are transferred to our system and stored there. Furthermore any files that have changed are retained on our system (up to a configured maximum or to a configured maximum storage size), so for example you might get four or five versions of that word document you have been working on safely stored on our system.
What this means is that you have the security of knowing that your files are stored remotely and available for instant recovery, and even if you have a tape backup you know that you have multi-site redundancy - your files are stored on your server, possibly on your tape system and on our servers.
Files Transferred back to you
We can transfer files back to you if you delete them by accident. This is done by emailing them (if they are small files) or transferring them directly to your machine or server if they are too large to send through email. In most circumstances recovery from our servers is around 8 to 10 times faster than recovery from a backup at your site.
Laptop nomadic workers.
Do you have user that use laptops? or are you a users that uses a laptop and you worry about the data that you store. As long as you are connected to the Internet, almost where ever you are we can copy files from a laptop to our server. If you are an individual or a smaller company then this service quite literally removes the massive problem of effectively backing up laptops. If your laptop is stolen, you don't have to worry as we can simply recreate the data that you had stored on it.
If you are a larger organisation and you are worried about what files your users are storing on their laptops this service can solve that problem. We provide reports of the files stored on a users laptop to a nominated person or people within your organisation. In this way you can keep tabs on the use and potential abuse of a company resource.
Additional Archiving at our Site
Optionally we will archive your duplicated data to tape or DVD and store the backups on one of our sites that is separate to the site where the archiving server that you use is located. This provides you with a 100% guarantee that the data you require will be recovered and if required will provide you with a permanent independent record of every file that was stored on your system - which could be very useful for legal conformance or to prove, or disprove what was stored on your servers.
